Robert L. “Bob” Friend was born September 13, 1946, in Walla Walla, Wash., the son of Lee and Anna (Meads) Friend. Bob passed away at the age of 70 on Sunday, May 21, 2017, in Hermiston.
Bob grew up in Hermiston and graduated from Hermiston High School in the mid 1960s. He began his career as an electrician for I.B.E.W. #125. He worked as an electrician at the Coal Energy Plant in Boardman for 35 years.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.
He married Shirley Titus, who preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a cousin, Ivan and his wife Margaret Meads of Hermiston, and several distant relatives.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, in the Burns Mortuary chapel, 685 W. Hermiston Avenue, Hermiston.
