Linda L. Achuff was born on March 21, 1943, in Louisiana, Missouri, to parents Buster and Dorothy Owen Meadows. She died on May 9, 2016, at her home in Hermiston, Oregon, at the age of 73 years.
Linda was raised and attended schools in Pendleton, Oregon. She graduated from Pendleton High School in the class of 1961. Linda married Ray Sharrah and they had a son, Steven. She later moved to Spokane, Washington, and married Ronald Phelps and they had a daughter, Jodie. Linda then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and married Walter E. Achuff in 1977. They moved to Hermiston, Oregon, in the early 1980s where they have lived since.
Linda worked at Vista Eye Care, first as a secretary and later as the district manager until her health forced her to retire. She enjoyed crocheting, bead work, reading, scrap-booking, coloring, and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an animal lover.
She is survived by her husband Walter E. Achuff, Hermiston, Ore.; son Steven R. Sharrah, Hermiston, Ore.; daughter Jodie Weaver, Wallowa, Ore.; sister Teri Mars, Hermiston, Ore.; brother Mark Seaton; and seven grandchildren: Jessica, Nathan, Christian, Zachary, Breanna, Aleigh Jo and Ryan.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
